Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade The process of upgrading an item, often known as “upping,” improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly. Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level. Upgrade components In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats on your weapon and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways through the use of upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. The Upgrade button at the bottom will read Blocked if you don't have enough of either. The amount of upgrade components required for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an upgrade increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but it can be reduced using a variety of ways, such as purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them with other players. The majority of weapons can be upgraded by adding a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced with a suffix. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message. Each glyph has a range of values it can enhance a stat according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This range is the maximum value that a glyph can increase a stat's value by but not the amount it actually improves it by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the item that you are enchanting. Most upgrade components slotted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph. If you wish to remove the glyph from an item then you'll need to save it using an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will destroy the item in which it is installed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss. A glyph added to an item can cause it to become unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you remove the item. You can also apply an inscription on your equipment to provide an additional benefit. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is helpful for players who take a lot damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed. Reroll tokens Reroll tokens are used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, including mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. item upgrading gives the player a brand new random affix that is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses. Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the upgrade menu, however they can still receive upgrades. Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but players must be aware that it will lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls used to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect is most noticeable on rings and Diadems, because they are the only options to raise the ilvl. Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to let people pay for it using money or food items that would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without spending too much time. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They plan to add a potion that will allow players to change their race in the future. Leveling There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first method of leveling up an item upgrade is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second option is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which increases the damage or healing of a stat. Additionally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but will have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item. It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are random.
